I searched the meaning of gender equality in google, the answer is something like this –
Gender equality : The state in which access to rights or opportunities is unaffected by gender.
We all have some needs and priorities in life. for the fulfillment of those needs we work really hard. On the other hand we live in that society where mentality is confined into just patriarchy, So what is the value of gender equality if only males have the right to work. That’s why needs and priorities of both gender must to be taken into consideration, by giving the equal opportunities to everyone.
It’s a fundamental human right which gives power to both genders to fulfill their dreams so that they becomes the decision makers of the society. How much we succeeded or much still we need to work on this social issue is can be explained by observing the society.
As we know that woman is basis of the family, if a woman is educated, empowered and independent than family will also follow it, which means that there is equal opportunities for development for all. Only in this way, we can eliminate odd factors from society (such as discrimination, molestation, female infanticide, violence, human trafficking, marriage: without the consent of the girl and many more)
A gender-equal society would be one where the word ‘gender’ does not exist: where everyone can be themselves : Gloria Steinem
In today’s world, most of women’s are independent and fully providing the support for making their country a developed nation or better place to live. NGO and government are working for this human right and growth can be easily seen. But we still need to work in both urban and rural area because most of the people in rural area is still illiterate, education is the only key to empowered them and in urban area people are well-educated but molestation, violence, crime is in peak.
We does not support patriarchy nor matriarchy, for the sustainable growth of the society a balance environment is today’s necessity.
Sexual, racial, gender violence and other forms of discrimination and violence in a culture cannot be eliminated without changing culture : Charlotte Bunch
So be the part of this change.
